Portable Diesel Heater for Camping and Overlanding — 12V & Shore Power
Only 6 in stock
Most portable diesel heaters lock you to 12V. This one runs on 12V DC from your vehicle and 110V/230V AC at the campsite — one heater for every setup. Rated to -40°F/-40°C and E-mark certified.
Two models to choose from. The Apollo-P1 delivers 2.5KW (8,500 BTU) — right-sized for vans and small tents. The Apollo-P2 delivers 5KW (16,000 BTU) for RVs, trucks, and large wall tents.
Runs on 12V Off-Grid and 110V/230V Shore Power — No Generator Needed

You get consistent heat whether you're boondocking on 12V or plugged into shore power at an RV park. No generator, no inverter — just connect and run.
On 12V DC, it draws power directly from your truck, van, or RV battery. At a campsite with hookups, switch to 110V or 230V AC with no modification needed. Both the Apollo-P1 and Apollo-P2 support all three voltages.
Order the version that matches your region — 110V AC for North America, or 230V AC for Europe, Australia, and the UK. Both versions include 12V DC as standard.
Apollo-P1 vs Apollo-P2: Which Model Fits Your Setup
The Apollo-P1 heats spaces up to 150 sq ft; the Apollo-P2 handles up to 300 sq ft. Same fuel, same installation, same controls — just different output.
| Apollo-P1 | Apollo-P2 | |
|---|---|---|
| Output | 2.5KW / 8,500 BTU | 5KW / 16,000 BTU |
| Low setting | 1.3KW / 4,600 BTU | 1.4KW / 4,900 BTU |
| Weight | 29 lbs (13 kg) | 35 lbs (16 kg) |
| Dimensions | 9.4" × 16.5" × 13.8" | 16.5" × 9.8" × 15.7" |

Both models run on diesel or kerosene, operate down to -40°F/-40°C, and come with a wired remote so you adjust the temperature without leaving your sleeping bag.
Built to Last 8–10 Years: Why This Heater Costs More
$200 diesel heaters burn out in 2–3 seasons. This one runs for 8–10 years — because the parts inside are fundamentally different.
The housing is pressed iron — not plastic. Budget heaters use plastic shells that crack in freezing temperatures and warp from heat exposure. The iron casing handles whatever conditions you take it into: rain, snow, and rough terrain.
You get a Kyocera ceramic glow plug — the same grade used in industrial burners. It starts reliably at -40°F/-40°C without the cold-start failures that end cheap heaters in their first winter.
Vvkb has built diesel heaters since 2003 — over 20 years before most brands on Amazon existed. E-mark, CE, RoHS, and FCC certified. Each unit is independently tested, not self-certified.
Heat Any Setup: Van, RV, Tent, or Overlanding Rig
This heater works wherever diesel is available — van, RV, truck sleeper, or wall tent. The combustion unit sits outside; warm dry air comes in through a duct.
Diesel Heater for Vans & Truck Campers
You route the duct through a floor vent or side panel and run warm air directly into the cabin. Your interior air never touches combustion gases — safer than propane in an enclosed space.
Diesel Heater for RVs & Trailers
On shore power, run it on 110V AC and save your propane for cooking. Switch to 12V when you leave the hookup. No generator needed either way.
Diesel Heater for Wall Tents & Base Camp
The Apollo-P2 warms a large wall tent from freezing to comfortable in under 10 minutes. At ultra-low (1.4KW), it holds temperature through the night on one 5-liter tank.
Diesel Heater for Overlanding
Diesel is the most available fuel on overland routes — and you're likely already carrying it for your vehicle. The heater runs on the same fuel, no separate supply needed.
Setup Takes Under an Hour — No Mechanic Needed
Everything you need comes in the box — warm air duct, exhaust pipe, fuel line, wired remote, and mounting hardware. Most setups are complete in under an hour.
Position the heater outside your van, RV, or at the entrance of your tent. Run the warm air duct through a vent or opening into your living space. Route the exhaust pipe away from all openings — combustion gases stay completely outside.
Connect to 12V DC from your vehicle, or plug into 110V/230V AC shore power. Fill the 5-liter tank with diesel or kerosene. The wired remote mounts inside — you control temperature without stepping out.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is it safe to use inside a tent?
Yes. The combustion unit sits outside your tent, and only warm air enters through the duct. Exhaust gases are routed completely outside — unlike propane heaters, which combust inside your living space.
What fuel does it run on?
Standard diesel from any fuel pump. Kerosene works as an alternative. Do not use gasoline — diesel and gasoline heaters use different combustion systems and are not interchangeable.
How loud is it?
Around 50dB at normal operation — roughly the volume of a quiet conversation. The fuel pump produces a low-frequency tick that most users stop noticing after the first night.
Does it work at high altitude?
Yes, up to 11,483 ft (3,500 m). The heater automatically adjusts the fuel-to-air ratio as altitude increases. Above 3,500 m, combustion efficiency drops and performance becomes unreliable.
Which voltage version should I order — 110V or 230V?
Order the 110V version for North America. Order the 230V version for Europe, Australia, and the UK. Both versions include 12V DC as standard.
