Will this fit my heater?
Yes, in almost every case. The connector is 24mm inner diameter — the standard exhaust size on Webasto, Eberspächer, and 2KW–8KW Chinese diesel air heaters. When people extend a cheap supplied hose and it won't seal, it's usually because the cut end is under 24mm. This pipe matches the genuine spec, so it clamps on and seals.
Is this a complete exhaust kit?
This is the exhaust pipe on its own. To fit it you'll also want a stainless exhaust clamp to lock it to the heater outlet, and — if you sleep close to the exit — an optional inline muffler. For a boat, add a through-hull skin fitting for a clean, sealed hull exit. Buy only the pieces your install needs.
How long can the exhaust run be?
Keep it as short and straight as your layout allows. For most van and cabin air heaters, 2m (6.6 ft) or less gives the cleanest combustion. Longer marine runs to a through-hull are fine, but every extra bend and meter adds back-pressure — which can cause sooting if overdone. Minimise bends, slope the pipe downhill, and avoid tight kinks.
Why does liquid drip out of the exhaust?
That's normal condensation mixed with a little unburnt fuel — installers call it "diesel slobber." It shows up most when the heater runs on low heat for long stretches. Route the pipe so it slopes downward and drains out the tip, and run the heater on high now and then to burn off buildup. A downhill run also stops condensate pooling and rusting the pipe from the inside.
Do I need the exhaust muffler?
It's optional. If your pipe always slopes downhill, you may not need one, and the spiral wall already softens the exhaust note. Add an inline muffler if you sleep close to the exhaust exit — it trims noise and gives a low-point drain hole. Whichever you fit, keep that drain hole at the lowest point of the run.
